Project Description:
In this study, we will collect continuous activity data from wearable sensors and brief surveys about pain 3 times per day from participants for 6 weeks. Using this data, we aim to investigate associations between physical activity patterns and pain flares in individuals with knee osteoarthritis (OA).
You can participate if you are:
- Are age 40 or older
- Have OA in one or both knees
- Had knee pain on most days of the last month (15 days or more)
- Have a history of knee pain in the last 12 months
- Can walk and move around without assistance
What you will be asked to do:
- Attend an in-person meeting at the beginning, midpoint (~3 weeks later), and end of the study at the University of Florida (3 meetings in total, ~20-60 minutes each)
- Fill out surveys about your demographics, health, physical activity, and quality of life
- Wear a sensor device on your wrist for 6 weeks while you go about your daily activities
- Use a smartphone to respond to brief surveys 3 times a day for 6 weeks
How to participate:
- Contact a member of the study team to learn more, see if you are eligible, and/or schedule an appointment to get your sensor
