Project Description:

In this study, we will collect and store data on how people with osteoarthritis (OA) move during typical daily activities to help us determine if it is better to collect data at community locations, as opposed to traditional lab-based settings.

You can participate if you are:
  • Are age 40 or older
  • Have OA in one or both knees
  • Can walk without assistance
  • Have not had an injury/surgery on your legs or feet in the past 3 months
  • Have not had joint replacement surgery on knees with OA
  • Do not have other conditions that affect how you move (e.g., stroke, Parkinson’s disease)
What you will be asked to do:
  • Spend approximately 20-60 minutes at the site
  • Fill out surveys about your demographics, health, physical activity, and quality of life
  • Perform typical activities of daily living (e.g., walking, standing up from a chair) while being filmed by a set of video cameras
  • Wear your own clothes and shoes
  • Allow collected data mentioned above to be stored in a secure, HIPAA-compliant data bank.
  • Return in 6 months for a 2nd session
How to participate:
  • Participants will need an appointment for one of the site dates and will need to be screened prior to showing up
  • To begin the screening and appointment process, call the number below
